Music Tech Workshop
Today we conducted a workshop introducing music technology at Crumbles Castle for kids aged 6-12! The children played various sounding objects (steel bottle, plastic sheet, cymbal etc.) with drumsticks and beaters. Bucket Drumming
This week we focused on bucket drumming. We used our homemade colourful beaters to experiment with and play different timbres of the bucket.

Graphic Scores
Today’s workshop was an introduction to basic graphic notation. We looked at a page from Cornelius Cardew’s Treatise, made our own aquatic-themed graphic score and performed along to Janine’s abstract animation.

Our second workshop…
Our second workshop featured cymbals and body percussion. We learned the ‘We Will Rock You’ beat and made our very own drumsticks!

Our first session went off with a bang!
We made explorations into the world of rhythm, making small hand drums out of old coffee tins and playing on a variety of drums including a snare, tom toms, shaman drum and a thunder drum!
